BIRMINGHAM. Downtown Birmingham offers a variety of shopping experiences, making it ideal for the entire family. A traditional "Main Street" atmosphere abounds, including pedestrian-friendly zones that allow shoppers to stroll past attractive storefronts ­ fine art galleries, exclusive antique shops, upscale boutiques, and cozy street-side eateries. ROYAL OAK. A bohemian village located on the outskirts of Detroit, Royal Oak offers a fashionable selection of specialty shops, art galleries, antique stores, Parisian-style streetside cafés, and restaurants. Explore Main Street and its quaint side- and cross-streets ­ 11 Mile Road, 12 Mile Road, Washington Avenue, and Woodward Avenue. Royal Oak is also home to Detroit Zoological Park.
